Baturday: DC You Week 1

Baturday

Welcome back, Bat fans!  There were quite a few shakeups after Convergence, but for the most part, a lot of people seem to be genuinely happy (or outright excited) for the future of DC Comics.  This week started the brand new “DC You” line of comics, which is less concerned about fitting into a particular cohesive continuity-driven universe and more focused on just telling the best stories that each creator possibly can deliver.  So, in the spirit of the last two month’s of Convergence tie-ins, I’ll be going through all DC releases, not just the Batman-related books.  So here you have it, my reviews of this week’s books:

Bat-Mite #1 (of 6) – My Rating: 5/5

Batman Beyond #1 – My Rating: 4/5

Wonder Woman Annual #1 – My Rating: 4/5

Midnighter #1 – My Rating: 5/5

Green Arrow #41 – My Rating: 5/5

Justice League #41 – My Rating: 5/5

The Omega Men #1 – My Rating: 3/5

Bizarro #1 (of 6) – My Rating: 4/5

Green Lantern #41 – My Rating: 3/5

Lobo #7 – My Rating: 3/5

Action Comics #41 – My Rating: 4/5

“Joker Month” Variant Covers – My Rating: 4/5

…and my pick of the week is…  JUSTICE LEAGUE!!!

So what did you think?  Are you excited for the new directions?  Is “Darkseid War” everything you’d hoped it would be?  Is the lack of forced continuity going to drive you crazy or put your mind at ease?  Are the 75th anniversary of the Joker covers cool enough to buy the same comic twice?  Did Nick Lachey make you want a Twix?  Let us know in the comments section below.  See you next weekend for a brand new installment of Baturday!
