Baturday: First Week of November 2019

Baturday

Welcome back to everyone’s favorite Batman-themed column here on Comic Booked, Baturday! I’m back again with my thoughts on all things Batman. The fifth week of October was full of great stuff. Here’s my take on this week’s releases:

  • Batman #82 – 4.5/5
  • Deathstroke #49 – 4/5
  • Harley Quinn #67 – 3/5
  • Justice League #35 – 5/5
  • King SHAZAM!: The Infected #1 (One-Shot) – 3.5/5
  • Legion of Super-Heroes #1 – 4/5
  • Lois Lane #5 (of 12) – 5/5
  • Young Justice #10 – 5/5
  • CW: Arrow – 3.5/5
  • CW: Batwoman – 3.5/5
  • CW: Black Lightning – 3/5
  • CW: The Flash – 3/5
  • CW: Supergirl – 4/5
  • DC Universe: DC Daily – 3/5
  • DC Universe: Titans – 4/5

My pick of the week: LOIS LANE!!!

So there you have it. Lots of great stuff going on in Batman-related books and other media. Tons of great news, previews, and upcoming releases as well. But you all know that. The Arrowverse sort of felt like it was a “filler” week, but they march closer to Crisis on Infinite Earths, so I’m still into it. Justice League and Young Justice are all sorts of fun every single issue. Titans takes a bit of a dip and DC Daily is sort of running out of steam. But even though Tom King’s Batman run is leading down a path that I’m cautiously optimistic (let’s hope he sticks the landing in a little over a month), it’s actually Greg Rucka’s Lois Lane (with backup from Renee Montoya’s the Question) that took the pick of the week for me. Get this guy back on a Batman book! He really is the best in the business. But what are your thoughts? What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming weeks and months? Let us know on social media and we’ll continue the conversation there. See you back here next week for another installment of Baturday!
