Baturday: Third Week of November 2019

Baturday

Welcome back to everyone’s favorite Batman-themed column here on Comic Booked, Baturday! I’m back again with my thoughts on all things Batman. The third week of November was full of great stuff. Here’s my take on this week’s releases:

  • Batman #83 – 3.5/5
  • Batman/Superman #4 – 4/5
  • Batman: White Knight Presents: Von Freeze #1 (One-Shot) – 4/5
  • Flash Forward #3 (of 6) – 5/5
  • Justice League #36 – 4.5/5
  • Nightwing #66 – 4/5
  • The Question: The Deaths of Vic Sage #1 (of 3) – 4/5
  • Scarab: The Infected #1 (One-Shot) – 3/5
  • Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #5 (of 12) – 4/5
  • Teen Titans #36 – 4/5
  • CW: Arrow – 3.5/5
  • CW: Batwoman – 3.5/5
  • CW: Black Lightning – 3/5
  • CW: The Flash – 3/5
  • CW: Supergirl – 4/5
  • DC Universe: DC Daily – 3/5
  • DC Universe: Titans – 5/5

My pick of the week: TITANS!!!

So there you have it. Lots of great stuff going on in Batman-related books and other media. Tons of great news, previews, and upcoming releases as well. But you all know that. I could talk about all of the great things in the world of Batman from this week, but I’m going to talk about my top three: 1) Alfred’s death is bull shit. If Tom King’s whole run isn’t a dream, or a nightmare, or an alternate reality, I’m calling a deus ex machina to start Tynion’s run. 2) The Black Label comics are delightfully weird and wonderful, but I’m wondering just how many DC is going to push out before they realize that they can make more money if they space them out a bit. 3) I’m calling it now… Year of the Villain, Justice Doom War, The Infected, Flash Forward, Dark Multiverse, Doomsday Clock… it’s all leading to a new Crisis where Wally West is going to save everyone and redeem himself (from a story that never should have happened). But what are your thoughts? What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming weeks and months? Let us know on social media and we’ll continue the conversation there. See you back here next week for another installment of Baturday!
