WIZARD WORLD MADISON – HUGE HIT! Wisconsin cosplay conventions are growing fast! Michael Bellow’s Milwaukee Comic convention Fantasticon 2014’s incredible success was soon followed by Wizard World’s amazing showing this past weekend. The con had wonderful artists and vendors and a rich array of costumes spanning every genre you can imagine. Something for everyone! Even saw a family of Attack on Titan Scouts with the Dad as the Titan! Super!!! I missed the Dad in costume for a pic, tho – arghh! So many great costumes!
Costume contest Saturday night was exciting, with the runners up almost as amazing as the contest winners! Great crowd and neat hosts! Who knew!!
This event was jammed packed all day – it was incredible, and the costumes just kept coming and being more and more creative as the day went on! Super surprised at how many families were cosplaying, how many parents were there with the kids supporting their ‘get into costume’ spirit. Well done Wisconsin! The most interesting comment I heard tho, was a group of college girls getting into their car towards the end of the day commenting. They said how nice it was to come to an event where they weren’t judged about how pretty they were, or how thin they were – but they were judged on how great their costumes were!
The food was Badger good – brats, beer, sliders and rollers were the staples – BBQ chicken was available too as was other convention food norms… Sauerkraut was in abundance! (ey, it was Wisconsin don’t ya know) 🙂
Wisconsin showed our stuff and they’re coming back! Yup, WW Madison 2016!!! Friendly staff, volunteers and even security! Definite ‘go to’ convention!
