Being the most anticipated movie of 2018, “Avengers: Infinity War” turned out to be the 3rd most expensive movie ever with the budget of $316 million. However, the movie has already gathered $1.6 billion, becoming the 5th highest-grossing movie of all time, the highest-grossing movie of 2018 and the highest-grossing superhero movie ever.

“Avengers: Infinity War” is the movie, where multiple Marvel storylines interweave. It gathered the greatest ensemble of superheroes. However, the sequel to “Infinity War”, which will be released in 2019, will be the last movie from the “Avengers” series and many Marvel fans wonder what will be in the future.

“Ant-Man and the Wasp” will be released in July. It’s the first Marvel movie after “Avengers: Infinity War”. The first “Ant-Man” was rather a bouncy movie and the sequel is much expected to be the same. And though the film director, Peyton Reed, stopped cooperation with the franchise after the first part, he returned to the director’s chair to shoot the sequel.

It’s most likely that the movie events will take place somewhere after the events in “Captain America: Civil War” and before “Avengers: Infinity War”. In the MCU, Ant-Man was last seen in “Captain America: Civil War”, where he was a fugitive from the law. And what has happened to him will be shown in the upcoming movie. From the trailer, it’s clear that the character tries to balance his role of superhero with the role of father.

While in the first movie, the role of the Wasp, Hope van Dyne, wasn’t central, this time, Evangeline Lilly’s character becomes much more important. The movie trailer has much focus on the Wasp’s unique abilities and fighting style.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe decided to add new heroes to its movies. Thus, in 2019, we will see a movie about an absolutely new hero, Captain Marvel. Actress Bri Larson will play the main role of Carol Danvers, an Air Force pilot-turned cosmic superhero. As Chris Evans won’t play the role of Captain America after “Avengers 4”, the franchise needs a new “captain” and Captain Marvel is the best variant.

However, the movie creators don’t tell what the name of the new movie will be. Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo shared that the announcement of the movie title may cause much speculation about the sequel of “Infinity War”. There are no photos or posters of the movie as well.

Also, it’s known that the movie is set in the past, to be exact in 90s. Ronan and Korath, who died in 2014 “Guardians of the Galaxy”, will be among the characters of “Captain Marvel”. The movie will be influenced by “The Kree-Skrull War” comic book as well.

Other Future Projects of Marvel

Besides, some other projects are planned by the MCU. Thus, “Spider-Man” sequel is on its way and Peter Parker will return from the dead. “Black Panther 2” and “Doctor Strange 2” will be released. Also, we can expect “Guardians of the Galaxy 3”, but the release date is still unknown. Moreover, the company plans much more movies, but doesn’t disclose the details.

So, you see that we will definitely have something interesting to watch even if the “Avengers” project will be absolutely closed. And the new “Ant-Man” is the first in the queue.
