8 Things I Want In The Agent Carter Series

Agents of Shield has finished its first season and recently picked up for a second. It was Marvels first attempt at a TV show and with that first success they’re going head first to dominate the TV landscape like they’ve done to the film industry. Not only are we getting a Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Defenders live action TV show, but ABC has just announced that we’re getting a limited season AGENT CARTER show. After the great response over the Agent Carter short, the folks at Marvel decided to expand on what they set up from that story. For those that don’t know who Agent Carter is, she was Cap’s kick ass girlfriend from the first Captain America movie. In the Marvel short, she’s given a desk job and decides to take action herself against a new organization called Zodiac. By the end of the short we see that Howard Stark and the Howling Commandos want her to start up SHIELD together. Here are a couple of things I would love to see appear in the new Agent Carter series.

8- The Birth of S.H.I.E.L.D-

At the end of the original Marvel short, Howard Stark asks Agent Carter to help him start up a new organization called, S.H.I.E.L.D. It makes for a great contrast with the modern Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D show because Coulson is now trying to restart the organization from scratch as well.

7- ZODIAC-

The criminal organization was mentioned in the Agent Carter short.I n the comics Zodiac is a massive supervillain organization lead by none other than Nick Fury’s Brother. They’ve been the arch-nemesis of S.H.I.E.L.D and the Avengers for years. It’ll be great to see another evil force besides Hydra all the time.

6. ARNIM ZOLA-

As we saw in Captain America-Winter Soldier, we found out that Arnim secretly infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D in its early years. This is a great way to show how that really happened. Maybe we can even see how he created the Winter Soldier as well. Lets not forget that Tobey Jones is a great character actor and would be a great asset to the show.

 5- Howard Stark-

He helped found S.H.I.E.L.D and also future Avenger daddy to Iron-Man. Lets see how he created all the cool gadgets in the Marvel Universe. Maybe show an early version of the Helicarrier and LOLA. Dominic Cooper was so charming in the role and it would be great to see him back as a recurring guest star. Maybe he can even try to be a love interest for Peggy.

 4- The Howling Commandos-

We saw them in action in the first Captain America movie and heard about how cool they were on Agents of Shield. Now we have a chance to put these characters into the spotlight. Lets see them on a mission without the aid of Captain America.The members included, Dum Dum Dugan, Gabe Jones, Jim Morita and others.  

3. Union Jack-

James Falsworth was last seen as a member of the Howling Commandos in the first Captain America movie.If you’re a comic history professor you’ll know that Falsworth is the alter ego of none other than the super hero, UNION JACK.This show would be a great way to show the origins of this character in live action. He could be inspired by Cap’s Death and becomes a symbol of his country like Cap was. Lets face it. We’ll never see a Union Jack movie anyway.  It would be a total waste to not see this character in live action when all the elements are right there for his debut.

2-The INVADERS-

We saw the Original Human Torch make a cameo in the first Cap movie.We had saw the pre- Union Jack.We probably won’t get to see Namor, but I think Marvel can still use the other members of the team like Spit Fire, Destroyer and others.  Maybe the show can lead to Agent Carter acting like modern Nick Fury and gather a group of heroes to battle the big bad at the end of the season.  In fact I wish Marvel was doing a mini-series about this instead of Agent Carter, but hopefully we’ll see at least the birth of these guys and maybe spin-off a mini-series next season.

1- CAPTAIN AMERICA-

No, not Steve Rogers.In the comics there were a number of people that took the mantle of Captain America after Steve Rogers was believed to be dead.It’s a great way to attract viewers to see Cap on TV.There is a ton of storylines you can go with here.There was Isaiah Bradley. He was a black man experimented with a early version of the super soldier serum and he’s the grandfather of modern comic hero, Patriot.There was also William Nesland who was appointed the new Cap by President Truman.Jerry Mace became the next Cap after Nesland died.Then there was William Burnside the crazy Cap that the directors of Winter Soldiers have hinted about that they wanted for CAP 3. He was a demented Cap in the 1950’s because he used the super serum without the Vita Rays.

These are just a couple of suggestions that would make this a must see TV show of the season. There was even a rumor that Joss Whedon shot a scene with the Peggy Carter character in the past for Avengers 2, so maybe we’ll even get a crossover with one of the biggest movies of next year as well.
