
April 26th, 2018 is the 3rd annual Alien Day! It is a day to celebrate the mythos and fandom of the hit Sci-Fi franchise Alien.
Wondering what to do and how you can celebrate? Maybe go grab your M41-A Pulse Rifle and take that last elevator to hell down to the surface for a bug hunt! Of course, if you’re not aboard the U.S.S. Sulaco and back on Earth, there are still ways to participate.
Multiple games will launch on the 26th. The first is a virtual reality game called ‘Alien: Descent‘
“ALIEN: DESCENT features a first-of-its-kind wireless technology that changes the way users experience virtual reality. Developed by Pure Imagination Studios in partnership with FoxNext Destinations, the technology allows up to four guests to move about freely in VR without the use of PC backpacks or wires.”
Another game to launch will be ‘Alien: Offworld Colony Simulator‘. It is an interactive survival game is only available on Amazon Alexa devices. This game actually will be released on April 25th at 11:59PM, one minute prior to the official start of Alien Day.
Zen Studios will have the Aliens Pinball FX3 tournament which you can download for free from Steam, Playstation Store, X-Box One, Windows 10 or to your Nintendo Switch.
Multiple consumers are also participating in the day like Books-A-Million, ThinkGeek, DarkHorse, Fox and more. HBO is running an Aliens marathon on HBO, HBO GO and HBO ON Demand and HBO Now. 20th Century Fox has made all of the Alien movies listed on the ‘Movie of the Day’ app for $4.99. Fox also has merchadise available in their online store that celebrates the franchise as well as the upcoming DarkHorse comics series ‘Aliens: Dust to Dust‘ by the creative team of Gabriel Hardman and Rain Beredo (available 4/25/18).
The official press release also says;
