Ambitious fans look to make real life Minas Tirith

Minas Tirith

There is a group of very ambitious Lord of The Rings fans that have started a crowd funding campaign to build a real life version of Minas Tirith.  Claiming to have a team of architects and structural engineers ready to build the real life version of the capital city of Gondor, in southern England.  They are looking to raise 1.85 billion pounds in 60 days for this project.   That amount of money in that short of a time is probably the most ambitious part of this project.

If they are successful, this could be amazing.  They do at least have realistic expectations about the scope of this plan.  They are promising to refund people’s money if their goal is not reached, and they also say this on their crowd funding page “Please only donate within your means, and in the knowledge that this project is a light-hearted venture with virtually no chance of succeeding.”.

It is supposed to not only be a tourist attraction, but it will also be a place people can live apparently.  As they put it “We aim to create both residential and commercial properties, allowing for sustainable growth and a high quality of life. “.

This is definitely the most ambitious crowd funding project I have ever seen.  Would you like to live and work in a real life version of Minas Tirith? Let us know in the comments below.  Here is a link to the crowd funding page, for those of you that are interested in contributing.
