AniRevo (short for Anime Revolution) Winter was held 7-8 February 2016 at The Art Institute of Vancouver in British Columbia. This con was created from Vancouver’s largest celebration of Anime and Japanese Pop Culture, AniRevo Spring. Vancouver’s 2016 Anirevo Spring is scheduled for 5-7 August at the Vancouver Convention Center and is expected to be bigger, better and have more cosplayers than ever!
This convention gets a 3.8 our of 5 thumbs up for cosplay friendly environment, great photographers aplenty at the convention, reasonable weather during Winter and reasonable con, hotel and food prices in the area. If you can plan ahead for airline tickets it is not too expensive, but for the Seattle cosplay scene, this is a wonderful con to travel a few hours north for!
Cosplay at this convention is so amazing and not solely anime, there was quite a few gaming and comic costumes! Photographer David Ngo captured the incredibly creative spirit of the costumers, creating intense photos in the gallery below. He snaps pics at so many comic and anime conventions across the country, providing cosplay showcase coverage and posting galleries of his work for all to view. Home is Seattle for David, but he is at so many conventions across the country you are bound to see him at one near you.
