Arisia, a yearly fan run science fiction and fantasy convention was among some of the first northeast cons for the New Year. The event was held in Boston at the Weston Waterfront Boston Hotel January 15-18, 2016.
This event is a favorite and all fan run. It has great attendance, fab locale and a 4 out of 5 thumbs up rating. Friendly volunteers help you through the registration maze and attendees are smiling and courteous to each other, (totally dig the costumer convention camaraderie).
Guests of Honor included author John Scalzi, artist Johnna Y. Klukas, fan Guest of Honor Pablo Miguel Alberto Vazquez III and special guest Venetia Charles, the Muse of Whimsy.
Next years convention is scheduled for 13-16 January 2017 at the Weston with guests of honor Ursula Vernon, Stephanie Law, Krypton Radio and Greykell Dutton. The timing might be a tad cold, but Boston proper is condensed and many activities are in the surrounding location of the host hotel. Plan early for this cosplay friendly event!
We all know and love Rodney Brown, or First Person Shooter as the Editor-in-Chief and photographer from Nerd Caliber, the Nerd Lifestyle Magazine. His photography is timeless and it’s always a treat for him to take your picture! He had a booth at Arisia providing pictures and support for cosplay attendees! First Person Shooter was at his booth talking to folks about his upcoming Cosplay And Photography Expo scheduled for 6-7 August 2016, a fantastic opportunity to put some costumes on, listen to panelists and have your picture taken amongst fellow cosplayers and friends! (psss – BelleChere will be there).
Thanks for these great snaps Rodney – we luv your talent and amazing cosplay photography!
