Batman DayGreen Day once said “Wake me up when September ends”. But I could never sleep. Why? September brings us Batman Day each and ever year. It is a chance to celebrate all things Batman and – this year – that also means Harley Quinn. The greatest detective in the world will collide with the Clown Princess of Crime on her 25th anniversary.

September 23rd is the day that bookstores, libraries, retailers and – yes – comic book shops around the country will take part in DC Comics’ annual Batman Day event. This includes not only the Direct Sales market and Newsstand markets but Scholastic as well which means Random House, Penguin, Scholastic Books, Capstone, Harper Collins and more will be jumping in to all the fun for this Saturday.

Call your local comic book shop and see what events they will have in place this weekend. I know my shop – Lauderdale Comics – will have the Batman Day books to offer as well as discounts and sales on books in their inventory as well as a professional Harley Quinn cosplayer on deck for photo ops.

There will be 3 free Batman Day books (seen below). In addition, your shop will have masks of Batman, Harley Quinn and color activity books/pages on DC Superhero Girls, pages from superstar artists like Amanda Conner, Lee Bermejo, Terry and Rachel Dodson. At a few select locations, Batman creators like Frank Miller, Paul Dini, Andy Kubert will be on hand for autograph signings.

In other words, this will be a great deal of fun for the entire family! Generations! Bring everyone!

Here are the 3 Batman Day books as well as the official descriptions from Previews:
