Baturday: 4/9/16 in Batman

Baturday

Happy Baturday!  And welcome to all Batman fans, past, present, and (gasp!) future alike.  Before I start, let me say that I am not a toy person.  I was when I was a kid, but space became an issue and, well, I stopped buying toys entirely.  But I couldn’t resist this go-around.  I mean, we waited 75 years for that movie.  And it was awesome.  So I may or may not have gotten some of Mattel’s new line.  They have Barbies.  They have Hotwheels.  They have action figures.  And they even have a Batman mask (that changes your voice) and a Batman gun (which launches Kryptonite missiles.  You should buy some.

They look like this: Batman MaskAnd this: Batman Gun

So there.  They’re neat.  Go buy them and do battle, whether you’re 5 or 95.  No judgment here.  Then there’s the big week in comics, news, and TV shows.  Here are my reviews of those:

Batgirl #50 – My Rating: 4/5

Batman Beyond #11 – My Rating: 4/5

Detective Comics #51 – My Rating: 4/5

Green Arrow #51 – My Rating: 5/5

Harley Quinn and the Suicide Squad April Fool’s Special #1 (One-Shot) – My Rating: 5/5

Justice League: Darkseid War Special #1 (One-Shot) – My Rating: 5/5

Midnighter #11 – My Rating: 5/5

New Suicide Squad #19 – My Rating: 4/5

Legends of Tomorrow 1.10: “Progeny” – My Rating: 4/5

Arrow 4.18: “Eleven-Fifty-Nine” – My Rating: 5/5

…and my pick of the week is…  MIDNIGHTER!!!

Lots of good TV and comics this week.  It was hard to choose.  But Steve Orlando does a solid Midnighter and the only thing this series was missing was an Apollo appearance.  Now what?  I guess he’ll just have to keep surprising us.  Seriously… how are you all not reading and buying this book?  It’s easily the best on the stands today.  See you all next Baturday, Batman fanatics!
