My Pick of the Month: BATMAN!!!

With so many great titles coming out each and every week, it’s amazing to know that the Bat books are still at the very top of the line.  Even the mediocre or “less than stellar” releases from their line are seemingly leagues above the rest of the heap.  So many “5/5” reviews, I know, but they really are great.  I’d like to take this time to celebrate the shows and films, as well.  They get a lot of negative (and, in my humble super-fan opinion, biased and unfair) press, but now that we’re back on track on the big screen and taking a mid-season hiatus to catch up and recharge on the small screen, I can’t help but wonder if this break will do just the trick to restore excitement yet again.  I’d also be remiss to not point out that Batman Annual #2 (which came out last month, but after Baturday’s release for November) was not only the best Batman book of the year, but possibly in the last decade.  It takes a lot to cause an actual physical and/or emotional reaction to reading a comic book storyline, especially a single issue comic, but Tom King and company did just that.  I read that book three times in one night.  Do yourself a favor and pick that book up and read it a couple of times.  But enough of my ramblings.  What were your thoughts?  Any Bat books need more love?  Any others that I missed or totally missed the mark on?  While you discuss and debate on social media and the comments section below, here’s a teaser for 2018…  Think Baturday, but OLD SCHOOL Baturday.  See you in a month… or maybe sooner.
