Baturday: Batman for 1/11/2020

Baturday

Happy Baturday! And welcome back to Comic Booked’s longest-running column! Each major Batman-related release is listed at the end of each and every week and the comics, shows, graphic novels, movies, events, etc. you CANNOT MISS will be listed in bold. Here are this week’s releases:

  • Batman #86
  • Batman and the Outsiders #9
  • Catwoman #19
  • Gotham City Monsters #5 (of 6)
  • Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy #5 (of 6)
  • Supergirl #38
  • Young Justice #12
  • CW Seed: Deathstroke
  • DC Universe: Harley Quinn
  • DVD: Joker

And My Pick of the Week: BATMAN!!!

This week’s releases sure had some highlights. James Tynion IV gets his due (finally) getting the big boy job as head Batman writer and proves that his Batman Eternal, Detective Comics, and about 100+ other Batman-adjacent comics work has him right where he deserves to be… with Tony Daniel’s brilliant artwork to help him out. Brian Michael Bendis continues his run on my (albeit biased) favorite team book with each and every issue of Young Justice. Steve Orlando gives us some weird and scary fun in a series I wish was ongoing with Gotham City Monsters. And there’s plenty of non-comic Batman goodies in the form of the Golden Globe-winning Joker release on DVD, DC Universe’s delightfully inappropriate Harley Quinn, and CW Seed’s Deathstroke pilot. But what are your thoughts on this week’s Batman-related releases? Hit me up on Twitter at jeffhillwriter and let’s get the debate going. See you next Baturday!
