Baturday: Batman for 1/18/2020

Baturday

Happy Baturday! And welcome back to Comic Booked’s longest-running column! Each major Batman-related release is listed at the end of each and every week and the comics, shows, graphic novels, movies, events, etc. you CANNOT MISS are listed in bold. Here are this week’s releases:

  • The Batman’s Grave #4 (of 12)
  • Legion of Super-Heroes #3
  • Nightwing #68
  • Teen Titans #38
  • CW: Arrow
  • CW: DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
  • DC Universe: DC Daily
  • DC Universe: Harley Quinn

And My Pick of the Week: THE BATMAN’S GRAVE!!!

This week’s releases sure had some highlights. The Joker film won a bunch of awards and was nominated for a bunch more (first the Golden Globes, then the Oscars, and just about everything in between, mostly focusing on Joaquin Phoenix’s controversial performance). Dan Jurgens restores the status quo for Dick Grayson in the pages of Nightwing and finally puts the comic back on course for the first time since, dare I say it, the legendary Dixon/Grayson/Tomasi era. DC Universe continues the hilarious and very not-kid-friendly adventures of Harley Quinn. And then there’s the finale of the CW’s epic “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover which, with that big cameo (the one that involves a certain DCEU character who didn’t have a name until he talked to Barry Allen), I would argue that DC topped a certain other epic comic book crossover event that hit the movie theaters in 2019. But what are your thoughts on this week’s Batman-related releases? Hit me up on Twitter at jeffhillwriter and let’s get the debate going. See you next Baturday!
