And My Pick of the Week: THE BATMAN’S GRAVE!!!

This week had some great Batman goodies. James Tynion IV’s Batman run is off to a great start. We got some test footage featuring a glimpse of Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight in the upcoming 2021 The Batman. We heard about Paul Dini returning to the world of Batman the Animated Series in a new comic book miniseries. We heard about Dark Nights: Death Metal and a whole bunch of Generations hints and news about the upcoming prestige format one-shots. But Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch still took the cake with their newest installment of The Batman’s Grave, a comic that truly proves that Batman is the best there is at what he… well… you know. Bruce’s reaction to the public finding out about Clark Kent’s secret identity was a welcome surprise in the pages of Superman: Heroes. Alfred got a sad send-off, the Birds of Prey made their Black Label debut (in a story that was actually better than the movie), the Terrifics had guest stars galore in their 25th issue, Catwoman still proves that she is indeed worthy of her own monthly title, and Steve Orlando made me wish he would write an ongoing Batman comic as he concluded his Gotham City Monsters miniseries. But what are your thoughts on this week’s Batman-related releases? Hit me up on Twitter at jeffhillwriter and let’s get the debate going. See you next Baturday!
