Baturday: Third Week of December 2019

Baturday

Baturday is back and better than ever. DC really brought their A game this week in what might be the largest release schedule that I’ve ever seen. My local comic shop actually took up two extra shelves just to put everything out on the new releases wall. And man oh man, so many great reads! Here are my thoughts on the third week of December 2019’s Batman-related releases:

  • Batman #85 – 4.5/5
  • Batman: Last Knight on Earth #3 (of 3) – 5/5
  • Batman/Superman #5 – 5/5
  • Catwoman #18 – 5/5
  • The Commissioner: The Infected #1 (One-Shot) – 3.5/5
  • Doomsday Clock #12 (of 12) – 5/5
  • Flash Forward #4 (of 6) – 5/5
  • Harleen #3 (of 3) – 5/5
  • Joker: Killer Smile #2 (of 3) – 4/5
  • Justice League #38 – 5/5
  • Nightwing #67 – 4/5
  • Suicide Squad #1 – 4/5
  • Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #6 (of 12) – 3.5/5
  • Teen Titans #37 – 4/5
  • Wonder Woman #83 – 4/5
  • Year of the Villain: Hell Arisen #1 (of 4) – 5/5
  • DC Universe: DC Daily – 3/5
  • DC Universe: Harley Quinn – 4.5/5

My pick of the week: HELL ARISEN!!!

So there you have it. Lots of great stuff going on in Batman-related books and other media. Tons of great news, previews, and upcoming releases as well. But you all know that. I could talk about all of the great things in the world of Batman from this week, but I’m going to talk about my top three: 1) DC Universe’s Harley Quinn had their strongest, funniest episode yet. 2) Lots of 5’s out of 5 this week from DC in terms of comic books. 3) Hell Arisen is off to a fantastic start, Doomsday Clock’s finale was everything I wanted it to be, Flash Forward is the miniseries that not enough people are reading but all should be reading, Batman/Superman and Catwoman are solid reads that should be on everyone’s monthly pull list, and Last Knight on Earth and Harleen prove that Black Label really is something special. But what are your thoughts? What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming weeks and months (and year)? Let us know on social media and we’ll continue the conversation there. See you back here next week for another installment of Baturday!
