Anson Mount has been tapped for the role of Black Bolt, and confirmed now I might add. Anson Mount is best known for his role as Cullen Bohannon in the tv series Hell On Wheels. Mount started his career in 1999 on the show Ally McBeal and went on to roles in Urban Legends, CSI: Miami, All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, Dollhouse tv series, Straw Dogs, among others. In fact, he has 44 acting credits to his name, according to the website IMDB.Com
Mount joins Game of Thrones actor Iwan Rheon who is set to play Maximus, Black Bolt’s brother.
Inhumans is executive produced by Scott Buck, who serves as show runner, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory for Marvel Television and ABC Studios.
In a groundbreaking move for the industry, the first two episodes of Inhumans will play on IMAX screens across the country before moving to the smaller screen for the remainder of the season. These first two episodes will air in September 2017 and will be directed by Roel Reine.
Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb commented; “Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently,” Loeb goes on to say about Mount; “His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”
EP Scott Buck also chimed in about Anson Mount and his being chosen to play Black Bolt: “Black Bolt is a character whose deep complexity must be conveyed without uttering a single word, and I’m very excited to have Anson on board to bring him to life.”
