Happy Thanksgiving and Black Friday Comic Book Style!

Black Friday

Black FridayFrom my family to yours, I want to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving. I hope your time with your families and loved ones is full of hearty food and love and future memories.  I hope you’re able to take time away from your work and the busyness of day-to-day life to focus on where you are and with whom you’re spending the holiday time. I want to say thanks to the staff here at ComicBooked as well as you, the reader, for continuing to be a part of this nerdy family.

Yesterday, on my YouTube Channel JLS Comics  (HERE) myself, our managing editor Justin and our panel of guests and fans and viewers gathered for the 2016 Turkey Day special.  It was a time to hang out with some friends who are geographically distant and regale each other with stories of holidays and too much food.  We also had a rather nice discussion on the recent Local Comic Shop Day and Deadpool 2’s new director which we reported here at ComicBooked recently.  We touched on the CW shows like Supergirl, Arrow and The Flash and the impending crossover event.  But, most importantly, we hung out as friends and gave thanks.  Some great people stopped by such as Aspen Comics artist Angel Tovar.

One thing we did discuss towards the end of the live show was Black Friday and so I wanted to pass some thoughts along to you.  The big stores like Walmart, Target, Best Buy and the like will, obviously, have their deals, their door busters and their inevitable stampedes.  Don’t forget about your local comic book shop.  Stop in or give them a call to see if they’re running any Black Friday deals. Who knows, you might be able to find some great back issues or key wall books for a fraction of the sticker price!.

Also, here are five stores running some deals to get you started and that you may benefit from checking out:

  1. Amazon.Com is running deals on some games and graphic novels. You can check them out here:  http://tinyurl.com/jurv8qe

3.  Barnes & Noble has this deal:  “Buy 2, Get the 3rd Free: DC & Marvel”.  They are having sales on Star Wars toys, games, and books. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/h/black-friday-cyber-monday-deals.

4. The New York City comic book store Midtown Comics is having the following sale “Up to 75% Off”. They’re also having a 25% off sale at their Grand Central, Downtown and Times Square locations.
