Exclusive Interview with CBCS Comics’ President Steve Borock

JLSCBCS

At the beginning of the week, we shared with you that Beckett Media had acquired one of the leading grading and encapsulation companies in comic books, CBCS Comics.

Naturally, that news came with a lot of questions for the comic book community as a whole. We got to sit down with CBCS Comics founder, President and Head Grader Steve Borock for his first interview since the press release.

We talked about his time growing up as a comic book reader in New York, how he came to found CGC and that there was a need for a 3rd party comic book authentication. We talked about his time with Heritage Auctions, his founding of CBCS Comics.  We also discussed the Hero Initiative, a 501c charity aimed at helping comic book creators in need.

Will there be slabs for magazine sized format books? Will there be a CBCS census? What does this mean for turn-around-times? Will the look of the label in the slabs change? What does mean for the Authorized Witness program? All of this and so much more was talked about and answered during the show.

Here is the full YouTube broadcast.  If you want to take the show on the go and listen, search for JLS Comics in the iTunes Podcast store. And please! Leave us a comment so we know that you stopped by.
