Comic Booked Indie Presents! – LUCID

cbi0000003

So I was wandering through The Secret Headquarters and picking up my Wednesday subscriptions when some snazzy art caught my eye. The art in question belonged to what turned out to be a charmingly hilarious and brilliantly killer comic called LUCID.

So taken was I by this little piece that when my original show plans were bumped for Comic Booked Indie it was the first thing that popped into my mind for a replacement.

Written and Created by Michael McMillian, LUCID starts us off by introducing us to a young skeptic named Matthew Dee, however, flash forward and the lad is grown and working for a very special branch of our government. A strange and fascinating branch that deals with the strange and frightening by fighting magic fire with some their own, more specifically, some of Dee’s.

Arted by Anna Wieszczyk, it clearly stands out on a shelf, and the interior is no different. Beautifully dreamed across each page one can not help but be drawn into the perfectly painted scenes of magic and chivalry bled out before us in color and awe. Truly a wonderful work of art that I am proud to own.

The team consists of many great minds and one you might have heard of, I refer to of course Executive Editor Zachary Quinto. Zachary Quinto is a talented actor well-known for his character contributions to the realm of geekery in such forms as Sylar on NBC’s HEROES, and Dr. Spock in the brilliantly fun re-imagining of our beloved Star Trek.

He is also a rather snazzy dresser, quite nerd-chic. Not particularly relevant I know, but I was bemused when I found out so I figured I’d share. Besides, I’m Half-French, to me fashion is always relevant. (Well, half of the time anyway.)

So! There you have it! You can find LUCID at your local comic book store and we here at Comic Booked Indie highly recommend that you do.

After all, it’s a prefect breed of fantasy and sci-fi, and what can be cooler than that? – N

Hahaha well I'm half French so fashion is always relevant, half of the time anyways. Nice.

Thanks for making the distinction between "aliens" & "pan-dimentional beings." I really love these digital "bullet-reviews" as they force me to sit still long enough to learn something. Also, you sell a rag I wouldn't normally notice quite well, keep up the great work.

Excellent. Glad you like!

Hahaha! Thanks, on all counts. That is great to hear.
