 Legenderry: Red Sonja #3

Red Sonja quickly will become your favorite as she is in a steampunk world and kicking butt and taking names!  She gets into something after coming too in a compromising position, fighting her way to freedom!  Great evil villains in equally amazing steampunk outfits – classic in my mind!

Cover art by Sergio Davila and Ivan Nunes.  Written by Marc Andreyko and illustrated by Aneke.  Colored by Impacto Studios and lettered by Dave Lanphear.

 King: Flash Gordon #3

Flash Gordon is still defender of the Universe, and just as adorable!  He finds himself in an underwater world and Dale is just as problematic and Ming is still the evil ‘Master of the Universe’ he’s always been and still remains so.  Color is fantastic with plain story boards that speak volumes and keep you wanting more.

Written by Ben Acker and Ben Blacker with cover by Declan Shalvey.  Illustrated by Lee Ferguson, with color by Omi Remalante and lettered by Simon Bowland.

Lady Rawhide/Lady Zorro #2

Lady Rawhide and Lady Zorro are amazing!  Thank you Joyce Chin, your cover art is very memorable – super pretty and steampunky, much loved!!!  It’s hard to turn the pages, they are so beautiful and provocative it is hard to move past the cover.  If only all the ladies could cosplay these outfits!  Humpf…  Everything here was fantastic, lots of guns, pretty cool, tough ladies in great clothes and bad guys that need to be taught a lesson…  It’s all here and with the ladies working as a team… feeling sorry for those tough bad guys!  No chance at all, no chance!

Written by Shannon Eric Denton with cover colorist Ivan Nunes doing total justice to the Lady Rawhide and Lady Zorro.  Artist Rey Villegas worked so well with colorist Morgan Hickman, tag teamed by letterer Morgan Hickman bringing it all together.  Very nice and can’t wait for next installment.

Sherlock Holmes vs. Harry Houdini #5

Sherlock Holmes vs. Harry Houdini is pretty cool and I’m really not sure who to root for, both these guys are so interesting and worthy of support!  Mr. Holmes, dead????  Mr. Houdini breaks out of a compromising situation to help defeat a Russian villain in an incredible show of stealth, friendship and loyalty that weaves itself into a magnificent edition.  Cool beans here!  Cover art by Aaron Campbell and written by Anthony Del Col and Conor McCreery.  Artist Carlos Furuzono did wonderful work with colorist Aikau Olivia and letterer Rob Steen.  Well done!

King: Jungle Jim #3

Earth had been attacked and all tech was knocked back 100 years… this sounds like an apocalypse !!!  Ugh!!!  Well, Earth had a few people who defended it and now their rep is going out with others gaining strength throughout the universes to also rebel!  I like it!  There’s a talking Rhino warrior, a winged female fighter and a few furry competitors that make the comic interesting.  Bad vs good always is intriguing but in a world with enhanced animals it’s to a whole new level!  Interesting concept and storyline of possibilities!  Cover art by Declan Shalvey and written by Paul Tobin.  Illustrations by Sandy Jarrell, color by Luigi Anderson and lettered by Marshall Dillon.

Solar, Man of the Atom #11

Solar, Man of the Atom is a woman.  She’s an architect who had a family member explode in all his power in front of her which transferred power to her and now she’s got her own power and going through trials in learning how to handle it appropriately.   Uh-oh, a nuclear missile is being launched and Solar needs to get things

Cover art by Marshall Dillon and written by Frank Barbiere.  Other artists/colorist/letterers are Jonathan Lau, Anthony Marques and  Omi Remalante.  Great job all, looks unique and original!

 Blood Queen vs. Dracula #3

Blood Queen vs. Dracula is beautiful and any female cosplayer would love to have her armor and costume (made for her of course, because this outfit is intricate and so detailed it would be very difficult to make it with accuracy!  It’s amazing!  Written by Troy Brownfield and cover art by (A) Jay Anacleto and Ivan Nunes; and cover (B) by Fabiano Neves.

Blood Queen continues to get warnings that Dracula is coming, some of which are quite interesting and bloody in her castle.  Magnificently in chanrge, she contains herself and maintains control, not expressing surprise when Dracula comes on the scene… looking like Drogo….  hot stuff!  Can’t wait for the next installment (not sure how she did it)!  🙂

Battlestar Galactica Six #4

Awesome TV show, incredible fighters and space fights!  Battlestar Galactica does not disappoint and kudos to writer J. T. Krul and main cover artist Jenny Frison (variant cover by Rod Rodolfo).  Illustrated by Rod Rodolofo, colored by Alex Guimaraes and lettered by Joshua Cozine.

Someone is a Cylon?  What?  The human cylon escapes and fugitively manages to create a fantastic storyline where the search for answers is both exciting and believable.  Excitement and action is on every page and in every clip.

Tune in next week for more Dynamite reviews right here on Comic Booked.
