Vampirella Vol. 2 #12
Nancy A. Collins (writer)
Patrick Berkenkotter (artist)
Mike Mayhew, Jenny Frison (cover)

3 thumbs up out of 5

Seems like Vampirella is everywhere – now she’s Queen and inherited a ton of issues in her home of Nosferatu.  As always, there is someone who is trying to move mountains against her.  An interesting potential ally pops up, but can there be a moment between them to prove the ally trustworthy?  Not too sure about that…  Check it!

Swords of Sorrow: Vampirella / Jennifer Blood #1
Nancy A. Collins (writer)
Dave Acosta (artist)
Billy Tan (cover)

3.5 thumbs up out of 5

ROAD TRIP!  Going to Cali NOT for a beach blanket bingo, tho, just an insanely horrific serial killer.  Once arrived, it appears she is vaulted into an alternate reality and then – it’s on!  Vampirella, you are a bad, bad girl who is on the warpath to own some equally bad guys – sock it to ’em!!!  (just click your heels to get home if violence, slashing with a special weapon and BA fight scenes don’t get ya there)

Shaft #6
David F. Walker (writer)
Bilquis Evely (artist)
Bill Sienkiewicz, Francesco Francavilla (cover)

4 thumbs up out of 5 and a pair of bell bottoms and platform shoes

These debut books of classic Shaft ends horrifically – blood, shooting, relationship surprises, mayhem!  Shaft has his back pocket full and starts pulling things out!  Surprise, surprise, surprise!  David Walker, great job here – titilating and energetic storyline – reads like a good action movie!

Legenderry: Vampirella #4
David Avallone (writer)
David Cabrera (artist)
Sergio Dávila (cover)

4 steampunk thumbs up out of 5

The Legenderry versions are obvi kool!  Steampunk is in and everywhere!  Vampirella is no exception and sports goggles, leather and corsets like a boss!  It’s no surprise there will be violence, sexy action and bad guy fights good girl!  This story is always interesting as it has the full fight club and wrestling story line that always pulls you in!  NICE!

Jungle Girl: Season 3 #2
Frank Cho, Doug Murray (writer)
Jack Jadson (artist)
Frank Cho (cover)

3 thumbs up out of 5

Jana, Jungle Girl to us, has quite a few earth bound enemies as well as creatures from the air (or flying saucer).  There is an idea that the world might end or be destroyed – so a epic journey needs to be embarked upon to find the piece of ancient weapon that could help stop the aliens in their tracks!  Fighting is in the cards for quite a while, but a conquering win is still a possible reality – so Jana fights on!

Django/Zorro #7
Quentin Tarantino, Matt Wagner (writers)
Esteve Polls (artist)
Jae Lee, Francesco Francavilla (covers)

4 Inglorious thumbs up out of 5

Fantastic storyline in this epic and unique series by an award winning writer.  Enslavement of a group of people under a different master proves difficult to sit by and not address – so Django is on the warpath with Zorro!  These real life super heroes prove the best pairing EVER!!! Huge 30-page edition concludes the two tough guys journey – good read and a must get!

Battlestar Galactica: Six #5
J. T. Krull – writer
Rod Rodolfo – artist
Jenny Frison, Rod Rodolfo (cover)

3.5 thumbs up out of 5

Apollo’s fate affects the entire fleet along with the Galactica.  Cylon threats are alive and well again and time is of the essence.  War is knocking at the fleet’s door  and without Apollo – how will they fare?  Action packed story and visual artistry with great covers!  Really liked it – still not sure how they will get through it!  In the end, my money is on the Galactica!
