There are few people working in the comic book industry that are quite as prolific as Skottie Young. Young has been working in the industry for over ten years now and worn many hats; including writer, penciller, inker, letterer and colorist. Although he has done many different jobs, Skottie Young is primarily known for being an artist for Marvel Comics. The Illinois based artist has also done work for Warner Bros., Image, Upper Deck, Mattel Toys and more! His artistic style stands out amongst most others, making his work easily recognizable.
Young began his work in comics like most other artists; by setting up a table at conventions and hoping for the best. Luckily CB Cebulski, who was at the time an editor for Marvel Comics, stumbled upon his portfolio and fell in love with it. Young and Cebulski became quick friends and worked on a few small indy projects together before Cebulski managed to get Skottie a gig doing the artwork for a fill-in issue of Marvel’s Iceman series. After that Young continued to work on comics full time at Marvel; the rest, as they say, is history.
Currently, Skottie Young is working on Ozma of Oz for Marvel Comics. He also recently released two sketchbooks (Stuff and Junk respectively) and a collection of his original online comic strip The Adventures of Bernard The World Destroyer; all of which are available on his website‘s store.
Below is a gallery of some of Young’s artwork for your viewing pleasure! Enjoy!
Hailing from Northeast Philadelphia, Jordan DesJardins is what many would call a "Geek". An avid collector of both comic books and action figures, Jordan can often be seen at comic conventions or scouring the city for the latest Transformers to hit the shelves.
This guy knows what's up!!! He's one of my favorite current artists for Marvel!
