This weekend, the touring comic convention Wizard World will make it’s latest stop in Virginia’s capital: Richmond! Wizard World cons are all about comics and media and feature plentiful programming and guests from both worlds. Comic guests include legendary artist Neal Adams, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle co-creator Kevin Eastman, Michael Golden, Greg Horn, Pop Mahn, and Marvel Zombies cover artist Arthur Suydam. Editors from Marvel will also be on hand to do portfolio reviews on Saturday afternoon. There will be a panel with Kevin Eastman celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and a look at the origins or modern comics.
On the media front there will be all kinds of cool guests including Adam West and Burt Ward from the 60’s Batman television show, who will also be doing an “Inside the Batcave” panel discussing their time on the show. The star of the Evil Dead series of films, as well as the USA show Burn Notice, Bruce Campbell will be in attendance. Two cast members from Marvel’s latest mega-hit, Guardians of the Galaxy, Dave Bautista (Drax) and Michael Rooker (Yondu) will be in attendance, and featured in a panel of their own. There will also be a Ghostbuster (Ernie Hudson), a Power Ranger (Jason David Frank), a Hulk (Lou Ferrigno), and a Superman (Dean Cain). On Saturday, there will be an exclusive screening of the new Fox tv show Gotham, which I’m pretty stoked about.
