Marvel Comics, for the month of February 2017, will be putting out a series of nostalgic variants. The series is the “Corner Box Variant” covers and will be aimed at recreating and reliving the classic and iconic corner boxes of the comic books of yore. The variant covers will be drawn by legendary artist Joe Jusko.
Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel said; “We’re elated to have Joe Jusko do a series of variant covers based on the classic Marvel corner boxes,”
And about how Joe will take the classic imagery and re-imagine it with today’s work, David Gabriel also said; “Joe perfectly recaptures what made that artwork so iconic in the first place, and he’s bringing that sense of gravitas to some brand new Marvel Corner Boxes featuring modern characters like Spider-Gwen, Deadpool and more.”
