Before I begin here, I have to admit something to all of you. I am not the biggest fan of Deadpool. As someone who’s formative comic collecting years were during the latter half of the bronze age, I still have some trouble with a superhero that knows he’s a superhero. I like my 4th wall to be sturdy and uncrossable. I know I know, I’m just a few steps away from “Hey you damn kids, get off my lawn!” with my curmudgeonly attitude about him.
I do find him to be funny though, and I have to admit that between this movie, and the current Deadpool’s Secret Secret Wars (Such a dirty trick using the original secret wars storyline, to suck us old farts in. Damn you, Marvel!!), he is starting to win me over, a little. I think Ryan Reynolds is perfect for this role, and I will probably fork out the cash to see this on opening weekend. What is happening to me?
Most of us have probably seen the leaked trailer from SDCC by now, but tomorrow we get to see a real HD trailer instead of some terrible quality footage from someone’s smart phone. I am actually a little excited about this. What is wrong with me? I think this old fart needs a nap…
