DragonCon 2016 brought over 77,000 attendees to Atlanta on Labor Day weekend, solidifying that even in it’s 30th year, this much anticipated annual multi-media pop culture event is still prime time. Attendees came from all 50 states and as far as Fiji and New Zealand! Photoshoots, cosplayers, panels, guests, artists and celebs brought their A-game the full four days, displaying their creative artistry and zest for accurate character portrayal.
For the first time and as part of it’s 30th year festivities, DragonCon provided programming on Thursday, provided a new fan-driven Dragon Awards program, expanded by over 215,000 square feet and broadcasted live the Sept. 3rd Dragon Con parade on Atlanta’s CW69.
Never been to DC? Gotta get here and next year is the best time to come! All the hype doesn’t do justice to this incredible event. Plan for next year, get a condo or hotel room soon, buy a pass quick, forge lifelong friendships while you’re there and don’t forget to show off that fantastic cosplay you worked all year on!
