Fall Television Preview: Blue Bloods

Blue Bloods

Police drama Blue Bloods returns to television tonight on CBS. The hit show with Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg starring, will enter a fifth season.

The fifth season seems to be taking very little time getting going. Danny and Baez will open the season on a security patrol for confiscated drugs. That convoy will be attacked, leaving Baez seriously injured. Looks like Danny will be on his own as he tracks down the people responsible for injuring his partner.

Back at the office, Frank faces some tough decisions. A lieutenant has some actions that have reflected badly on the NYPD brought into question. Problem here is, the lieutenant has given no reason for anyone to question the exemplary work of that career to this point. It is a tightrope that Frank has dealt with before but still one that he has to be careful walking.

Expect Eddie and Jamie’s relationship, if you can call it that, to take center stage at some point this season. The complicated pair may finally try to find some personal time to develop this relationship further before season five comes to a close. Fans have been anxious for it to happen and it looks like it is finally a subject the writers are willing to explore. Vanessa Ray, who plays Eddie on Blue Bloods, is balancing time between the show and another hit show, Pretty Little Liars. It is quite the work schedule for the young actress.
