Fall Television Preview: Criminal Minds

Criminal Minds

CBS seems to be the home to a fair amount of shows that focus on criminal activity. Criminal Minds returns tonight for a tenth season.

The drama that centers around the Behavioral Analysis Unit within the FBI. The unit is comprised of scientists that study profiles of criminals. Those profiles allow the agents to track down the most likely suspects in some of the most gruesome and disturbing cases on television.

The last season came to an end with the team losing a member. Though the writers, producers and studio were not sure they would replace Jeanne Tripplehorn, who played Alex Blake. Ultimately, they decided to keep the team at seven. The replacement would come in the form of Jennifer Love-Hewitt as Kate Callahan.

This season has a few interesting tidbits coming out. The tenth season will feature an unsub that will be introduced at the end of the premier episode. That unsub, for only the second time in series history, will be present through the entire season.

The season features an episode that is described as a “love letter to fans”. The writers plan to bring back many faces from the first nine years throughout the episode. The episode is being planned to be huge and a way of saying “thank you” to fans.

Now that Glee is winding down, viewers may finally get Jane Lynch back as Reid’s mother. The fourth episode of the season is described as one of the grossest to date. Garcia will continue to deal with PTSD. There is no shortage of things for fans to get excited about.
