Fall Television Preview: Sleepy Hollow

Sleepy Hollow

Most people have at least heard the name Ichabod Crane, especially around Halloween time, and the town of Sleepy Hollow. The story goes that he was walking along the rode at around Midnight and a horseman galloped by him and took his own head off and hurled it at Ichabod. Scary stuff. so, why not make a TV show that uses some of that scariness? That is exactly what was attempted with Sleepy Hollow, the supernatural action thriller on FOX.

I watched this show all last season and really loved it. I will give you a brief rundown of what you missed. Ichabod Crane was a soldier in the Revolutionary War who was sent on a special mission by General George Washington, you may have heard of him. Washington told him there was a secret war between good and evil that was being waged and he was asked to help in it. On the battlefield, he met a Hessian soldier who was said to be indestructible, but Crane cut off his head. Now, this did not kill him, but it did end up in Crane and the Hessian being linked through most of this last season.

Jump forward to the current day and Crane wakes up in an underground cave, ressurected, as it were, by his wife, who turned out to be a good witch. Now, crane is teamed up with a police officer who has seen the devil and they are trying to stop the coming apocalypse. The Headless Horseman, or Hessian soldier from Crane’s past, is the first Horseman, Death, riding on his Pale Horse. The other riders are to follow.

I will say that this first season had a great cliffhanger ending as Crane was buried alive and there seemed to be no hope. I can’t wait for this second season to debut, so please check out the trailer below and watch this show. It is amazing.
