Fight Club 2 coming soon to a comic store near you

Fight Club

The fan-favorite book by Chuck Palahnuik (and David Fincher directed film starring Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Helena Bonham-Carter) is getting a sequel, set ten years after the conclusion.  Tyler Durden’s story is not quite complete, and Dark Horse Comics (teamed with original creator and novelist Palahnuik) will be reuniting him with the world that we all learned to love…  but never talk about.

Fight Club 2Not a whole lot is known about this project, other than it has been in the works for quite some time.  Both USA Today and The Wrap reported that it will be ten issues in length, set ten years after the novel’s (not to be confused with the movie’s, because they are quite different) ending, with the main protagonist now married with children.  As a fan of both the book and the movie, it’s hard to believe that the book came out in 1996 (and the movie then in 1999).  And somehow never seemed like something that necessitated or even needed a sequel.  But now that news has broken, it has this fanboy excited and asking questions.  Chief among them: WHEN?

We have no idea yet.  And also, WHO WILL BE DRAWING THE COMIC?

And again…  We have no idea.  Yet.

So, there you have it.  What are your thoughts?  Is this a massive mistake?  Or are you hesitantly hopeful and not-so-secretly excited to see what Dark Horse and Palahnuik give us?
