The Flash Trailer Airs Online

The Flash

Warner Brothers has released the trailer for The Flash TV show, based on the DC Comics property, starring Grant Gustin as the titular character. The Flash trailer features a cameo from Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen (Arrow), tying the two shows together. The idea of the shared universe isn’t a particularly new or exciting concept (People have been doing it before Marvel did it), but it is still pretty interesting to see DC tie two diametrically opposed (at least tonally) shows together and build a whole world out of it.

Now for the trailer itself, there are a number of elements from The Flash comics coming into play here. At first glance, we see streaks of yellow lightning and a person inside of them, indicating the presence of Eobard Thawne, aka Professor Zoom. We also get to see Clyde Mardon, the second Weather Wizard in the comics. On closer inspection, we see the van for Gambi’s Tailoring and bags patterned after The Trickster’s outfit. At S.T.A.R. Labs we see Caitlin Snow (Killer Frost) and Cisco Ramon (Vibe). The man in the wheelchair could also be Hunter Zolomon, also known as Zoom, the second Reverse Flash (this particular bit of information could be wrong).

The pilot episode will be scripted by former Flash scribe Geoff Johns, produced by Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti, and will be directed by David Nutter. It airs later this year on Tuesday nights at 8 PM EST.
