With Guardians of the Galaxy sitting as one of the most popular films of 2014, I wanted to see what I could do about getting hold of anyone associated with the film to talk with us here at Comic Booked. Amazingly, I got through to one of the stars of the film who had some time to sit down with me and talk about their experiences. Below is the unedited interview.
Aaron Clutter: I really appreciate that you took time out of your busy schedule to talk to us today. You are one of the stars of the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy. Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
Groot: I am Groot.
AC: Thank you, Groot, for joining us today. You play the giant tree-man who is partner, bodyguard, and houseplant to Rocket, the genetically enhanced raccoon. How did you and Rocket first meet?
G: I… am… Groot.
AC: Okay. Well, I know that you had some really cool scenes in Guardians. Tell me, did you do your own stunts?
G: I AM Groot!
AC: Yeah. So, tell us about your relationship with Rocket.
G: We are Groot…
AC: So, I can see where this is going. No wonder it was so easy to get an interview with you. Thanks for your time.
G: I am Groot.
So, yeah, that happened. Kind of repetitive, but still, he was one of the stars of that movie. If you love Groot and Rocket, you should really be reading Rocket Raccoon, currently an ongoing series from Marvel Comics. The story is following Rocket’s exploits as he tries to discover more about himself. He believes himself to be the only one of his kind, but that may not be true. Skottie Young does a great job with this series and you really should check it out. Yes, Groot is there, too.
