Vault Comics‘ hit title ‘Heathen’, from the creative team of Natasha Alterici (Writer & Art), Rachel Deering (Lettering) and Tess Fowler (Cover Artist), has been picked up by Constantin and Prime Universe who will adapt the series to film.
Kerry Williamson (What Happened to Monday, Alex Cross) is already attached to pen the script. Damien Wassel (Vault Comics’ CEO) will serve as Executive Producer for the project along with Martin Moszkowicz from Constantin Film.
Heathen began its’ comic book life as a successful two-project Kickstarter campaign prior to being picked up by independent publisher Vault Comics. After that success by Alterici, the start of the new volume hit comic book shelves in February of 2017 and quickly sold out of it’s nearly three thousand unit print run. Vault quickly sent the book back to the presses for second and third printings. It has gone on to issue number six, with a period of delay while Alterici works on the scripting and interior artwork. Diamond has solicited issue #7 , seen here, and will be in shops on June 27th of 2018.
Alterici told Deadline;
“The entire Heathen team and I are incredibly excited about adapting my little lesbian viking comic for film, especially with a kindred spirit like Kerry writing it. I’ve been a film fanatic for longer than I’ve been a comics fans, and that my working in one format would lead to another is nothing less than a dream come true.”
