Jason Wingren, better known as Boba Fett’s voice in the Star Wars movie The Empire Strikes Back passed Christmas Day 2015 at the age of 95. Boba Fett, you will be missed, our deepest sympathy to your family and friends.

Wingren, an experienced actor, was also known for his 117 episode bartender role Harry Snowden in All In The Family and Archie Bunker’s Place. He also appeared in the movie Airplane, and amassed over 200 credits to his name according to his IMDB page. He was well known as a character actor in television, performing roles in such well known shows as The Twilight Zone, Seinfeld, Star Trek, The Untouchables, Matlock, and The Fugitive.

Wingren auditioned for the voice of Yoda, but it was casted to Frank Oz with Wingren obtaining the part of Mandelorian bounty hunter. He only had a mere four lines to his characters name, but ended up making a tremendous impact. He admitted to only taking about 10 minutes work on those lines and not receiving any residual payments or credits, but you can hear his voice on various action figures.

Future releases found his Boba Fett voice changed out for the voice of Temuera Morrison, the actor cast for Jango Fett. Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back DVD version released around 2004 also has Morrison’s voice tracked there as well.

Wingren, Star Wars fans will miss you and we forward sympathy to your friends and family during this time.
