Katsucon 2016 had amazing panels, events and cosplay. It also had a fire alarm with an outside wind chill factor that almost created frostbite for many an Anime fan this weekend as they swarmed out of the convention into the frigid temp. Despite the evacuation, one of the biggest anime conventions on the East coast still awed and wowed attendees, brought incredible costumes out and showed ‘the con must go on’ perseverance of attendees and coordinators.
It was heart warming when the firemen exited the fabulous Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center and a couple hundred Anime, comic, gaming and manga dressed cosplayers who were re-entering the facility broke into loud and resounding cheers for them. Pretty kool stuff that really made me proud of the costuming community!
This convention was fantastic and gets a 4.2 thumbs up out of 5 for amazing costumes, attendee conduct (respectful and friendly) and location. Weather is pretty cold and if you travel alone it can be expensive, but as long as there are no more fire alarms, it’s all good as the con is indoors.
Enjoy the snaps and for more check out the Katsucon Facebook site, tons of photos are being posted!
