Marvel Sneaky Preview: Dark Tower: Drawing of the the Three – The Prisoner #1

Dark Tower

Stephen King is one of my favorite authors. Of his works, The Dark Tower series is my all time favorite set of books. When the news came out about the next comic book series bases on this property, I was excited. The Dark Tower: The Drawing of the Three is the second book in the Dark Tower series. This first miniseries will be based on the first part of that book, The Prisoner.

This book has some very interesting deep meanings as each part is named for a Tarot card and points the reader to a new member of Roland’s katet, his group of travelling companions. We are introduced to three characters in the book, four if you count Detta and Odetta as two, and their lives are all very closely intertwined. The main character of this story is Eddie Dean.

As the story of the Prisoner unfolds, we will see how Eddie has survived on the streets of New York and whether he is strong enough to pass to Mid World and travel with Roland. Piotr Kowalski and Nick Filardi bring their own special touch to these books with some amazing art that will draw us deep into the story of Roland, the Gunslinger, as he hunts the Man in Black. A very exciting new chapter to this amazing series.

As an added plus, fan favorite Skottie Young is also doing a variant cover and I have a sneak peek of it below. Check it out and let us know what you think. Then, September 3rd, pick up The Dark Tower: The Drawing of the Three – The Prisoner #1 at a comic shop near you.
