Marvel Studios has confirmed today – May 20th 2016 – the addition of more actors to the cast list for the upcoming Thor movie, Thor: Ragnarok. Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum and Karl Urban are all now confirmed. It is also important to note that Mark Ruffalo, who plays The Hulk in the Marvel movies, will also be starring in the movie.
According to IMDB, Cate Blanchett will be playing Hela. Hela, in Marvel Comics mythology, is the Asgardian Goddess of death. Karl Urban will star as an executioner named Skurge. Jeff Goldblum will allegedly play the iconic Grandmaster for this movie. Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as Loki and Idris Elba as Heimdall. Odin will again be played by Anthony Hopkins. IMDB lists a rumor in the cast list that Lou Ferrigno will voice the CGI version of The Hulk. One popular theory about the plot – currently unknown – is that it will take place on another planet and will draw from the Planet Hulk story line.
