New Comic List: February 11, 2015

Another week and another futile attempt to read every single comic book published by all companies. I sure hope that you find something on this list that you love and can really enjoy reading. This is what comic books should really be about. Not getting all the variant covers and collecting every rare item out there so you can sell them on ebay in order to finance your plan to create a 3D printed version of Minas Tirith for the headboard of your bed in the basement of your parent’s house where you still live. No, comics should be about stories and heroes and villains and lessons. Comic books should help you escape real life and show you worlds that are outside of even your crazy imagination.

There is nothing more enjoyable to me than to open the pages of a comic and see those old friends, meet new friends, and watch an artist take an idea and turn it into an amazing world that is better than anything I have ever seen. Now, granted, this does not always happen. Sometimes I open a comic and say, “Why did I waste my money on this? I could have received more enjoyment from cleaning my ears with an icepick.” Those are the books that immediately get dropped from my pull. No matter how we try, we just can’t buy or read them all.

Since this is one of my least read columns, I don’t expect any sort of discussion about the meaning of comics and how they relate to the modern world/pop culture/alien hieroglyphs from ancient Sumeria. It’s too bad.

So, tell me what you hate about our site. Tell me what you love about our site. Please tell us what we can do better or what makes us better. We only exist to serve you, the fans.
