New York Comic Con, a Reed Pop event, started out hot with thursdays surprisingly heavy attendance. For most cons this would be an anomaly and it is a difference as well from NYCC2015. Diversity reigns supreme this year and that is a fantastic feat and something NYCC should be proud of and tout. All ages, sizes, ethinicities, gender bends and genre characters can be seen this year – it’s phenomenally exciting! Comics, comic books, gaming and cosplay are for everyone, everywhere.
The convention is on at 10am and vendor floors close at 7pm with artist alley shutting it’s doors at 8pm. Luv this touch as it provides avid comic book autographers time to enjoy the event with extra time to meander in the incredibly large artist alley.
Panels are filled quick, lines into the convention are seriously long but surprisingly fast to que through. Those lucky enough o score 4 day passes along with the thursday only pass attendees were excited, pumped and very friendly. Cosplayers strutted their stuff, posed in character and managed to impress at every opportunity!
NYCC thursday got a 4.0 thumbs up out of 5, for massive attendance, lots of cosplay for a Thursday and a ton of freebies and even more free themed photo booths than last year. Star Trek’s Enterprise popular photo booth has the longest wait time with Marvel’s IronFist GIF photo booth as the second most popular. If you haven’t been yet, you gotta get here next year!!
