Peter Panzerfaust is returning to print through Image Comics this November.  Kurtis Wiebe is returning on writing duties and his partner Tyler Jenkins will once again pencil the series.

Peter Panzerfaust began in February of 2012 and ran through twenty three issues which were then collected in four trade paperbacks and one deluxe hardcover book.  Kurtis and Tyler had written up to issue 25 which was near the end of that arc. Originally, the series was scheduled to to a five issue miniseries but after the success and acclaim they received, lengthened the run to 30 issues.  Kurtis had it scheduled to end at issue 25 but the series abruptly stopped at issue 23.  It did well enough to have one episode of a televisions series  in 2013 starring Elijah Wood and Ron Perlman.

“It’s been on hiatus as we’ve not been able to afford to do it full time. It is being worked on. Very slowly, unfortunately.  He said on Twitter soon thereafter.  Unfortunately, that “very slowly” became a couple of years.

The city of Calais is the first city in France to fall to the Germans in the spring of 1940. A mysterious American boy named Peter rallies a handful of plucky French orphans and they must work together to survive Europe’s darkest hour. From the writer of the critically acclaimed GREEN WAKE and THE INTREPIDS comes a new ongoing series: PETER PANZERFAUST, a high energy action story that blends Red Dawn with Peter Pan.
