
Principle filming has officially begun on the Marvel Studios adventure “Captain Marvel”! It is currently set to hit theaters at the beginning of March, 2019.
Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers and it is set to take place in the 1990s, making it the first movie in the MCU timeline.
The movie also stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Jude Law as Mar-Vell. The press release (below) also lists Clark Gregg on the casting call, indicating that SHIELD Agent Phil Coulson will be making a return to the movies from his current post on the Agents of SHIELD television series.

Marvel Studios has begun principal photography in Los Angeles, California, on its newest film,
“Captain Marvel.” The production is shooting in and around the greater Los Angeles area, which will also serve as the production base for the film. The production will also shoot on location in Fresno, California, as well as locations in Louisiana, including Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
Based on the Marvel comic character first appearing in 1968, the story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
