According to the solicitations for the month of February 2014, Sandman: Overture #2 will be delayed from its original release date of December 31, 2013. This will mean that all current orders for the book are being cancelled, so be sure to let your LCS that you want to reorder it for February. This is the follow-up to Sandman: Overture #1 released in October to much acclaim and brings together the great creative team of Neil Gaiman, Sandman original series creator, and artist J.H. Williams, best known for his work with Alan Moore on Promethea and for art on Batwoman from DC Comics.
Neil Gaiman responded on Tumblr to fans: [quote]”I understand your disappointment and sympathise. [J.H. Williams III and I are] both really sorry about the delay. It’s unprofessional, and is mostly due to the giant signing tour I was on from June, and me not getting script written on the tour, with knock-on effects. We’re hoping it’ll be the only delay though.”[/quote]
