Valiant Entertainment has just announced that a new volume of Shadowman is hitting comic book store shelves in May of 2020. This new volume will be written by prolific horror writer Cullen Bunn with artwork by Jon Davis-Hunt. “We’re taking Shadowman in some directions he’s never been taken before,” Cullen Bunn said in the press release, which you can read in its’ entirety below.
Created by “Big Jim” Shooter, Steve Englehart and Mike Maneely, Jack Boniface as Shadowman debut in 1992 as one of the premier titles in the fledgling Valiant Comics line. Since then he has been a part of numerous volumes, events and crossover stories.
This latest volume will fully lean in to the horror elements of the Shadowman mythos. Bunn says he is introducing the concept of the Blight. In the press release, he says that the Blight is the weakening of the veil that separates our world from a place called DeadSide. Apparently, demons will cross over and will be punched in the face quite a bit.
Heather Antos of Gwenpool fame says that this creative team is a perfect mix of talent at the top of their craft and they’ve all come together to create a new horror classic. So, whether you are a fan of horror or not, this sounds like exactly the type of book you should check out when you go to your comic book shop this spring!
