The Titans Are Leaking All Over the Place!

DC Comics and DC Entertainment have multiple projects focused on the Teen Titans; it’s probably up there with Batman.  It is one of those properties that probably has had the most amount of successful output in terms of the DC/WB development mill.

If you don’t believe me, look at the list. The ‘Teen Titans‘ animated television series ran for 66 episodes and 5 seasons from 2003-2006. The fifth season of ‘Teen Titans GO‘ was announced in March of 2018 and is expected to launch in the summer of 2018, some time around the release of July’s ‘Teen Titans Go To The Movies‘ with voice actors such as Nicholas Cage and Tara Strong and Kristen Bell.  In 2016 DC/WB released an animated feature film called ‘Justice League vs Teen Titans‘.2017’s ‘Teen Titans: The Judas Contract‘ animated movie received a 83% Rotten Tomatoes score.  How many other D.C. Comics characters and teams have had this many successful projects both released and in development in the last few years?

That brings us to the next two projects.  After seemingly being cancelled in 2013 with just 2 season, the next show was thought lost until Netflix ratings told the studio that people want more. ‘Young Justice: Outsiders’ is the long-awaited third season of the ‘Young Justice’ animated television series.

“We’ve already recorded all 26 episodes. We’re just waiting for the animation to come back. I’ve already seen some of it. It looks great. I’m so excited,”

The show is set to air on the DC Digital Service later this year and we now have our first glimpse at what the show itself will look like and we get to see Brimstone, a villain created from Darkseid’s ‘techno-seed’:

Also airing on DC’s digital streaming platform will be ‘Titans’, a 13 episode live-action show about the team lead by Nightwing.  Titans was originally set to be aired on TNT but was cancelled, in favor of DC keeping it ‘in-house’ and on the new streaming platform. ‘Titans’ is still filming, just a couple of more weeks to go before principle photography wraps. But with that came some leaked photographs from the set of the show (which you can see below)

But before you look at the photographs, you need to read what Anna Diop (Starfire) says about the fan response to the set photos:

To the Titans’ fans:

Yesterday a photo of me on set leaked online.  And it was unfortunate because fans have been waiting MONTHS for a photo of ‘Starfire’ and a sloppy photo of me on a curb in 15 degree weather is what they got instead.  For the sake of our incredible fans – I hated that this is the first picture people are seeing.  It’s out of context and it’s a misrepresentation of the incredible character I get to play.  And also a misrepresentation of the phenomenal production behind it all.  With that said – the hate speech that followed was deplorable.  And though I am highly unbothered, I do want to use this as an opportunity to say that tearing people down is not something that I tolerate.  For myself or anyone else.  Too often social media is abused by some who find refuge in the anonymity and detachment it provides; misused as a tool to harass, abuse and spew hatred at others. This is weak, sad, and a direct reflection of the abuser.  Racist, derogatory, and/or cruel comments have nothing to do with the person on the receiving end of that abuse.  And because I know this – I’m unfazed 🙂 But for anyone out there who may not – I am here to remind you that whatever ugly and negative things anyone ever chooses to say about you is always a reflection and revelation of themselves – it does NOT define you and it certainly does NOT make you any less perfect than you are – Be you!  Stay beautiful! Live breezy 🙂 As always, , much love
