So (obviously) spoilers for those of you who’ve been hidden under a rock for the last few months, but X-Men: Apocalypse is obviously going to feature the Big Bad himself. And for those of you who haven’t yet seen X-Men: Days of Future Past, shame on you. Go see it. Go see it right now.
Okay. Neat. Now, I’m hoping that it’s not just some random no name or random out of nowhere actor playing the title villain in the next film. Because that NEVER works out. Hugh Jackman, Christopher Reeve, Henry Cavill, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Michael Keaton, and Andrew Garfield are all living proof of that. Wait… What?
Never mind. Here are my top ten, in no particular order. Some would be chosen for their class, some for their style, some their stature, and some simply for their voice. With a character like Apocalypse, anything is fair game.
1. Tony Todd
2. Idris Elba
3. Morgan Freeman
4. Sidney Poitier
5. Will Smith
6. Tyler Perry
7. Andre Braugher
8. Dennis Haysbert
9. Ving Rhames
10. James Earl Jones
What do you think? Agree? Disagree? Someone else you’d like to add to the list? Comment below!
I’d add Kevin Grevioux (Underworld, Young Justice) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0340485/
My #1 pick would have been Micheal Clarke Duncan. 🙁
i think it kind of depends on how apocalypse is done. if he’s human, that’s going to limit a lot of the older guys, making someone like (the somehow ageless) tony todd or idris elba much better characters. however, if it’s just based on voice, james earl jones would always be a good choice, but hell, that could be just about anybody with an intelligent but scary voice. apocalypse has been portrayed so many different ways in the comics, who knows. it’ll probably just end up being vin diesel.
