Sometimes there’s a reason a villain becomes the person he or she is destined to become. And sometimes, no matter how noble the intentions, some heroes just aren’t meant to be fathers. So, in preparation for the upcoming Father’s Day list of best comic book dads, we’re here to point out some that aren’t exactly the best. In fact, the argument could be made that they are the worst. Here they are:

1. Bruce Wayne, Batman

2. Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic

3. Mephisto

4. Darkseid

5. Thanos

6. Cyclops

7. Ra’s al Ghul

8. Carmine “The Roman” Falcone

9. The Red Skull

10. Baron Strucker
