Tuesday Trailer Park: A BIG week for trailers!

Trailer Park

“Do you bleed? You will.” – Batman, talking to Superman.

This will be a week long remembered: It has seen the debut of many trailers…

… and it will soon see the end of fan speculation on the internet.

Or maybe its just the beginning of fan speculation. Needless to say, in the course of only a few days starting from the end of the week right through to the weekend, many  of the most anticipated films – perhaps of all time – have had their trailers hit the web. There’s a lot to see here.

The obvious place to start is the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser (the second teaser released so far) which was unveiled at Star Wars Celebration this past Thursday. It has had 88 million views in only 24 hours and has caused upsurge of as much as $2 billion to Disney’s stock value. The trailer is here, and it you want to know more about it, Squeaky Mouse Droid gives it a thorough breakdown here. But as you’ll see, it’s not the only trailer to debut, and it might not even be the most important. Check it below:

Next up is Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. Warner Brothers upcoming superhero film is a big deal, a really big deal. Never before have the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader shared the silver screen together, despite the fact that these are the two most iconic superheros in all of history. This is the second film in Warner Brothers efforts to create a cinematic universe centered around the superhero team the Justice League, spawned by Marvel’s remarkably successful cinematic universe centered around the Avengers.

We still have a long way to go before this film’s release, but the excitement is already palpable. Though the trailer doesn’t offer a glimpse of Wonder Woman or Aquaman (neither of which have ever been in a live-action film before)* it does give us insight as to the tone of this film. Ben Affleck’s Batman is bigger and more dangerous than Christian Bale’s take, and the world’s population isn’t sure what to make of Superman: is he a hero, or does he present the beginning of the end for the human race? [Editor’s Note: There actually was a Wonder Woman movie back in 1974, made for TV starring Cathy Lee Crosby! – Awesome EIC Aaron]

Regardless of what’s in the teasers for both The Force Awakens or Batman v. Superman – in fact, regardless of whether or not the studios even decided to release these trailers – both of these films are guaranteed to bring in their core audience when the finished films hit theaters. For Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot, however, such returns are not guaranteed, so releasing a full-length trailer is so necessary. See that trailer below.

Making a big comeback this summer is Jurassic World, a film that banks on nostalgia (the island theme park of dinosaurs we first saw in 1993 is finally open to the public) as well as the ever-climbing star power of Chris Pratt on the heels of his Guardians of the Galaxy. Check out the new full trailer below.
