Uchi-Con had a robust Artist’s Alley, a professional photo booth by the amazing photographer Ron Ladao provided free digital pictures, a cosplay contest, yummy cafe, kimono fittings and a Masquerade Ball among panels, screenings and camaraderie.
Local cosplayers and Anime lovers came out in droves, reaching over 1,000 attendees at Uchi-Con this year – an amazing success! The historic Ida Noyes Hall at University of Chicago proved a fantastic backdrop for photos, weather was not bad and parking was well within walking distance.
The convention was free admission but for a small fee you could purchase snacks, printed pictures and lots of adorable little anime things from local vendors. Chicago area photographers snapped some great pics in and outside of the historical building, a landmark backdrop to the many unique costumes present.
This convention gets 3.7 thumbs up out of 5, especially because…well… you had us at FREE! FREE admission and digital photos always makes cosplayers and convention attendees happy, plan for next year!
Photographer Patricia Wilson of Stage Photographic took some great photos and this gallery shows them off. Thanks, Patricia! Enjoy!
